the World
FishQuest’s mission is provide a “one-stop shop” of quality
sportfishing adventures around the globe, developing
lifelong relationships with our clients, while respecting
the people and places we visit.
Our

experience, and a worldwide network of carefully selected

staff continually monitors our fishing destinations - and
scouts for new ones.
We
help you plan your trip and organize your travel
arrangements. We tell you what tackle to bring and what to
leave home. While we can't control the weather, we'll give
you a good idea how to dress for wherever you're headed.
The FishQuest! Team
Scott
Swanson
is FishQuest!'s Managing Director. Scott grew up in
Minnesota, land of 10,000 lakes, where he fished often at
his grandfather's cabin. Twenty years later, he rediscovered
the sport on a peacock bass fishing trip in southern
Venezuela. He parlayed his newfound excitement into a
separate fishing division of Lost World Adventures, which
later served as the springboard to launch FishQuest! Global
Angling Adventures.
Gary
Schumacher
is FishQuest!'s co-founding partner. He also was
the producer of Terra-Quest.com, which links home-based
"virtual adventurers" with live expeditions around the globe
via the World Wide Web. Gary is an avid fly and light-tackle
angler. He enjoys sharing the joys of fishing with his
family and others. He is a long-standing member of IGFA and
The Billfish Foundation.
Cindy
Henry
is FishQuest’s Operations Manager, handling reservations,
travel logistics and other administrative functions. She
joined the team in 2004, relocating from Atlanta, where she
was an accounting manager in the bottled water industry for
16 years. A native of New Orleans, Cindy now enjoys
small-town mountain life, volunteering at her church and
relaxing on Lake Chatuge.
Judith
Weible
is FishQuest's marketing director and manager of our
QuesTackle store. Born in Manchester, England, Judith spent
nine years traveling throughout the world working on private
yachts. In 2000, she went to college in Florida to study
international business, graduating with honors in 2005. Judy
spends her free time riding her three trail horses in the
Blue Ridge Mountains.
Alan
Zaremba
is FishQuest's pro-staff consultant and trip leader for many
of our Amazon angling adventures. Born in Miami, Alan has
more than 40 years experience fishing in South Florida. In
1989, he began guiding for peacock bass and other exotic
fish found in the area's waterways. Sponsored by Daiichi and
Quantum, Alan has tallied more than 75 world records caught
from his boat. He joined the FishQuest team in 1999, and has
since led dozens of successful trips to the Amazon
region. Alan and his wife Cathy reside in Hollywood,
Florida, with their four children.
Scott
Young directs Fishquest! Asia, which markets our Amazon
and Mexico fishing trips to Japanese and other
Asian anglers. Born in Southern California, he obtained a
business administration degree in college then moved to
Hawaii in 1975 to surf big waves and catch Peacock Bass. He
was a bass guide for twenty years, appearing in Bassmaster
and several Japanese fishing magazines. Scott spends time
between Hawaii and fishing for giant Peacock Bass in the
Brazilan Amazon.
Yurie
Grant is the office manager for Fishquest! Asia. She was
born in Toyko in 1971 and was employed as an executive
secretary until she moved to Hawaii in 2002. Recently
married, she enjoys scuba diving, skiing, reading, and
cooking.
Angling Allies
FishQuest has strategic partnerships with lodges and other
fishing operations spread across six continents. Our fishing
destination lineup is considered the most far-reaching in
the world.
We
have arranged travel for numerous television shows, most
recently for ESPN’s Bassmaster’s Adventure Classic
and Trevor Gowdy’s Quest for the One on Outdoor Life
Network. We have consulted the Georgia Aquarium on travel
logistics for collecting exotic fish from Asia and South
America, and have assisted Marty Arostegui in his quest for
more than 200 IGFA world records.
Our
Mission Fishin’ project helps provide for educational,
medical and other needs to several remote Indian villages in
the Amazon.
While our clients include a host of celebrities,
professional athletes and corporate leaders, most of them
are just regular guys -- and sometime gals -- who just love
to fish. Regardless, we try to treat each and every one of
our clients as a VIP.
