Desert Lake Safari
A Safari on Lake Nasser offers stunning and constantly changing scenery, an impressive variety of birds, mammals and reptiles and most of all an opportunity to fish the incredible Nile Perch. Located 90 minutes south of Aswan, Lake Nasser, the largest man-made lake in Africa, was created by the building of the Aswan Dam in 1952. Your safari will start in Aswan and take you due south where you can experience the changing scenery while fishing one of the world's largest freshwater fish. Lake Nasser offers an atmosphere of tranquility, vastness and adventure that is hard to match anywhere in the world.
Nile perch are the largest freshwater fish accessible to anglers and have been known to reach a weight of almost 400lb. The largest fish caught by a client with this outfitter was a whopping 250lb. Research shows that Nile perch have a better chance of reaching record sizes in lakes such as Lake Nasser than river systems and there is every indication that there are some very large fish still living in Lake Nasser. The larger fish are usually caught by trolling but Nile perch can also be fished by shore-fishing and fly-fishing.
Fly fishing guides can be hired at an additional cost.
