Agua Boa Lodge, rated one of the top 10 fly-fishing lodges in the world by Forbes Life Magazine in 2010, is an exclusive fly fishing lodge located in the Brazilian Amazon. Its target species is peacock bass. Under permanent protection by the Brazilian Environmental Institute and the governor of the state of Roraima, commercial fishing is absolutely prohibited. Three species of peacock bass are found in this crystal clear rivers and tributaries around the Agua Boa Lodge: the butterfly (up to 10 pounds), the paca or spotted (up to 20 pounds), and the temensis (up to 28 pounds).
Peacock Bass are perhaps one of the toughest gamefish around. Their topwater strike is often so ferocious that the entire fish will fly several feet out of the water with the fly. Once hooked peacocks exhibit a savvy toughness unknown to trout and largemouth bass fisherman. Anglers return with stories of stripped reels, destroyed flies and memories of giants that couldn't be stopped.
In addition to peacock bass, other gamefish present include: payara, piranha, pirapatinga, matrincha, pirarucu, aruana, jancunda, traira, surubim and countless other species.
The lodge offers spacious air-conditioned bungalows with ensuite bathrooms, wireless Internet and frigobars. The bungalows are surrounded by jungle with a view of the river. The clubhouse is superbly equipped with large dining room and lounge/living room, bar and games room. Outside, there is a 20-meter pool with poolside dry and wet bar and al fresco eating area.
So call now and take advantage of this great opportunity to fish at the beautiful Agua Boa Lodge.
